The Lady Cougars battled hard tonight against the Richmond Red Devils at home. The Cougars got off to a slow start and trailed 16-9 after the first stanza. However, the Cougars turned things up both offensively and defensively during the middle two quarters and outscored the Red Devils 38-18. Tonight's win was a great example of team basketball. All 8 players who played tonight contributed one way or another in the victory. The night saw seven Cougars contribute points, which included four players scoring in double figures. Leading the way was Izzy Silcox with 13. She was closely followed by Abbey Malet with 11, and McKenzie Lisenby and Brooklynn Study with 10 a piece. Finishing the scoring for the Cougars were Ainsley Robinson and Lexi Kerkhof with 7 each and Aubrey Bush with 2 points. Leading the way for the Red Devils was freshman R'sirae Nunn with 16 points. The Cougars are back in action on Friday night in a tough road match up against Pendleton Heights. The JV game begins at 6:00, with the Varsity tip to be at approximately 7:30. We hope you can make to the game as the Cougars try to even their record to 3-3 on the young season.
