For the third time this season the Lady Cougars Basketball team played in an ovetime game. Entering the 4th quarter last night against Bishop Chatard the Cougars trailed by 10 points as the Trojans steadily built their lead from 5 to 7 to 10 through the first three quarters. However, the Cougars came out in the 4th quarter with a little more fight and determination and outscored the Trojoans 14-4 in the final quarter to tie the score at 60 all on a buzzer beating three by Lexi Kerkhof. This was Lexi's second game tying three of the season that has forced an ovetime. In the overtime both teams traded empty possessions with the visiting eventually outscoring the Cougars by three to secure the victory. On the night the Cougars made some improvements, both offensively and defensively, as well as saw the return of senior Juliann Jones from the IR and into the starting line-up. On the evening the Cougars had 6 of 9 players reach the scoring column, with Izzy Silcox and Lexi Kerkhof leading the way with 27 and 13 points respectively. The Trojans also had to players in double figures with Olvia Berzai scoring 19 and Lilly Braun chipping in 13. The Cougars have a few days off before returning to action on December 6 when they travel to Tri High to take on the Titans. JV tip is at noon with the Varsity to follow immediately afterwards at approximately 1:30.
