The Lady Cougars traveled north to Delaware county to face off against the Eagles of Delta High School. The Cougars and Eagles both fought hard in the 1st half with the Eagles going into the locker room with a 22-21 lead after two quarters. Both teams continued to battle in the 2nd half, but the Cougars had a hard time finding the bottom of the net in the pivotal 3rd quarter. The 4th quarter saw both teams exchanging baskets for the final 8 minutes. In the end the Eagles came away with the victory. The Cougars were led by Izzy Silcox who played a great all-around game and finished with 24 points, which included 7 out 8 from the foul line. Lexi Kerkhof was the only other Cougar to reach double figures scoring with 10 points. The Cougars will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to Lebanon for a matinee match up. The JV game begins at 12:30, with the Varsity to follow at approximately 2:00. All of the players, managers, and coaches want to thank everyone for all of your support throughout the first half of the season. The gym is electric when all of you are cheering and showing your pride for the players and team.
