Greenfield Central Varsity Girls Basketball vs Muncie Central

At this time of year, whether play is good, bad, or ugly, the goal is to survive and advance. In tonight's game at Pendleton against Muncie Central, all three types of play were present at times, as the Cougars secured a 50-13 win over the Bearcats. In the 1st quarter there was some nervousness and sloppy play resulting in some bad plays at times. The 2nd quarter saw Cougars outscored the Bearcats 6 - 0 to take a 15 point lead at halftime. The 2nd half saw the Cougars put it all together on both ends of the floor for some good, and at times great basketball, to outscore the Bearcats 30-8 in the 2nd half and advance to Friday night IHSAA Sectional action to take on Anderson at approximately 7:30. On the way to their 6th consecutive win the Cougars were led in scoring by standout junior Izzy Silcox with 13 and newcomer of the year Lexi Kerkhof with 11. The team really appreciated the support from all the fans tonight who traveled to Pendleton to cheer for them. We are looking forward to everyone coming back again on Friday. Please spread the word that game time on Friday is at 7:30, and let everyone know we are looking forward to seeing an even bigger crowd on Friday! Let's go Cougars! Keep it rolling!
