The Greenfield-Central varsity boys' golf team hit the road on Wednesday, April 15, taking on a formidable Fishers High School squad at the challenging Purgatory Golf Club. Despite a determined effort from the Cougars, Fishers secured the victory with a team score of 159, while Greenfield-Central finished the day with a 181. Purgatory Golf Club, known for its extensive bunkering and links-style layout, proved to be a stern test of precision. While the Cougars didn't walk away with the win, the match provided valuable experience against high-level competition as the team looks to find its rhythm early in the season. Leading the way for the Cougars were several consistent performers who managed to navigate the difficult hazards of the course. The low scorers for Greenfield-Central were MCCoy Wilson and Trevor Smith with scores of 45.
