Cougar Baseball Completes Series Sweep vs Yorktown, 13-10

The Cougars secured the series sweep over Yorktown Wednesday night, holding on for a 13-10 victory to move to 9-4 on the season and remain unbeaten in HHC play. Brady Martin got the start but it was Steven Walker who stepped up big, working 4.2 innings out of the bullpen to earn the win. Henry Close came on and shut the door, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings with 3 strikeouts to close it out. Carter Ellis was the offensive star of the night, launching a home run and driving in 3 runs. Hayden Zellers added a triple and 3 RBIs. Cooper Safford drove in 2 with a double. Gavin Markus went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI and scored twice. Jacob Welch had a big night as well, collecting 2 hits and scoring 3 runs. Gage Handlon scored twice and Hayden Kidd added a double and an RBI. The Cougars head to Southport Friday night for their next game.
