Nathan Roberts quickly answered for the Cougars at No. 1 singles, continuing his strong season with a convincing 6-2, 6-2 victory. With the match still hanging in the balance, play was paused for an hour-long lightning delay. When the teams returned to the courts, GC held the advantage at No. 2 doubles, where the Cougars were in a tiebreak, while GC had taken the first set at No. 3 singles but was trailing in the second. The Cougars came out of the delay ready to go at No. 2 doubles. They dominated the tiebreak before carrying that momentum into the second set, earning a 7-6, 6-2 victory and putting GC one point away from the team win. New Palestine answered by taking No. 2 singles, leaving the match to be decided at No. 3 singles. GC battled through a back-and-forth third set after splitting the first two sets, but New Palestine ultimately prevailed 7-5, 0-6, 6-4 to secure the 3-2 team victory.
