Cougars rally to defeat Franklin Community

Cougars clawed their way back to defeat Franklin Community 11-6. Franklin Community jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st and the Cougars answered back with 2 in the bottom of the frame. The Grizzly Cubs tacked on 2 in the 2nd and 1 in the 3rd to take a 6-2 lead. The Cougars went to work in the bottom of the 3rd putting up 6 runs to tie the game, and the added 1 in the 4th and 2 in the 6th to seal the victory. The offense was again led by Charlotte Riehle going 3 for 3, a double BB and scored a run, Savvanna Riall went 2 for 3, a solo home run, scored 4 runs and 2 rbi, Allison Hornaday was 2 for 4 with a run scored and a rbi, Addi Herrin went 1 for 4 with a double, a run scored, and 3 rbi's, Avery Daniels was 2 for 2, BB ,scored a run and an rbi. The defense committed 3 uncharacteristic errors in the game, but when they needed to make big plays, they did. Ailea Dowdy started in the circle allowing 6 hits, 5 runs, 4 earned, 1 K, in 1 inning worked. Addi Heacox took over in the 2nd and limited the Grizzly Cubs to 1 unearned and 5 hits, 2 K's to get the win, her 3rd of the year. Next up Zionsville Monday night at Home.
