Men's JV Track and Field Defeats New Palestine

The Cougars defeated New Palestine 81 to 37. The Cougars won 10 out of the 16 events. Jaxon Conaway led the Cougars with first place finishes in the long jump, 200 (where he barely edged out teammate Baron Linder by one hundredth of a second), the 4x100 (with Gavin Smith, Baron Linder, and Payton Foley), and second in the 100 to teammate Kaden Tompkins who won by only a few thousandths of a second. Tompkins was 3rd in the 200 to Conaway and Linder. Memphis Blevens recorded two first place finishes in the shot put and discus. The Cougars swept both the shot put and discus. Frank Titus and Jase Gustin in the shot put, who both threw prs, and Jase Gustin and Kyle Gregoire in the discus along with Blevens in both events. The Cougars also swept the pole vault and long jump. Hunter Jones and Will Parker both cleared 11'0" for the first time with Jones beating Parker on jumps. Sev Lopez finished 3rd. In the long jump, all four GC individuals jumped a PR. Conaway's 18'0" jump was good enough for first. Bobbie Brinkman, had a huge pr jumping 17'6.75" for second. Gavin Smith jumped 17'1.5" for 3rd, and Baron Linder jumped 16'9.75". Carter Grinstead won the high jump. Ben Flora won the 1600 in a pr time of 5:09. Michael Peterson was 3rd in 5:28. Payton Foley won the 110 hurdles with a time of 17.87. Jordan Cooper finished runner up in the 400. Hunter Wiswell ran a 2 second pr in the 3200 to finish second. In the 800, Isaac Berty charged hard at the end to claim the third place spot passing two New Pal runners.
