Young Leads the Way as Greenfield Central Battles at Hoosier Heritage Conference Championship

The Greenfield Central golf team faced tough competition at the Hoosier Heritage Conference Championship, finishing 7th overall in the standings. Despite the challenging field, the team saw standout performances, led by Avery Young, who earned All-Conference honors with an impressive score of 80 at The Players Club at Woodland Trails. Young showcased consistency throughout the round, carding 40 on both the front and back nine. Their ability to navigate tricky holes and maintain composure under pressure solidified their position as a key player for Greenfield Central. Corbin Elliott followed closely behind, posting an 82 after a balanced showing across both halves of the course. Elliott scored 42 on the front nine and 40 on the back, demonstrating steady shot-making and a strong ability to recover from challenging holes. Trevor Smith finished with a 94, battling through the round with determination. Smith encountered difficulties on the back nine, where he carded a 50, but stayed resilient to post a competitive score. Meanwhile, McCoy Wilson turned in a solid 89, showing patience throughout the match. Wilson’s 43 on the front and 46 on the back reflected steady play and smart decision-making to keep his game on track. While Greenfield Central placed 7th in the team standings, Young’s All-Conference recognition was a bright spot in the tournament. The Players Club at Woodland Trails provided a challenging test, rewarding those who could adapt and execute under competitive conditions.
