GC Baseball Rolls Past Guerin Catholic in 14–5 Victory

The Cougars cruised to a 14–5 win over Guerin Catholic on Saturday, fueled by a relentless offensive attack and a solid effort on the mound. The Cougars wasted no time, plating five runs in the top of the first inning. Hayden Kidd opened the scoring with a two-run single, followed by an RBI triple from Hayden Zellers. Carter Ellis added an RBI double, and Steven Walker capped the inning with a run-scoring single. Brady Johnson added to the early momentum with a solo home run to right field in the second, his second long ball of the season. Kidd chipped in another RBI with a groundout, stretching the lead to 7–0. Greenfield-Central kept the pressure on in the third when Zander Cobb roped a two-run double to center. By the end of the inning, the Cougars had built a 9–1 lead. On the mound, Brady Martin earned the win, tossing 4.1 innings while allowing three hits and three runs (two earned). Carson Richardson came in to close things out, going 2.2 innings and surrendering just two runs on two hits while striking out three. Offensively, Kidd led the Cougars with 4 RBIs, going 1-for-2 with two walks. Johnson, Cobb, and Zellers each collected two hits. Johnson added 2 RBIs, and Cobb drove in a pair. Jacob Welch showcased great plate discipline with three walks, helping GC rack up 14 total walks in the game.
