Greenfield Central’s golf team delivered a stellar performance at the NP Golf Invitational, securing second place overall while carding their lowest team score of the season. The Cougars finished just one stroke behind tournament champions, New Palestine Red, in a thrilling competition that showcased their growth and precision on the course. A Collective Effort Drives Success Led by Avery Young, who recorded an impressive 75, Greenfield Central demonstrated consistency throughout the day. Corbin Elliott followed with a 77, and Trevor Smith rounded out the top trio with an 80, ensuring the Cougars placed three golfers in the tournament’s top 10 individual leaderboard. Their efforts played a crucial role in the team’s standout 317 total—a season-best. Fierce Competition and Strong Showings The tournament featured eight teams, with New Palestine Red (316) narrowly edging out Greenfield Central. Tri (325), Eastern Hancock (333), and New Castle (334) rounded out the top five, all delivering solid rounds in competitive play.
