Greenfield-Central traveled to Muncie, IN to take on Delta High School. GC was looking to catch Delta off guard early with a shot from the opening kickoff. Unfortunately, GC did not have many other chances in the first half besides that. Delta earned an early free-kick and after the service was sent in, a collision occurred in the box and an own goal was the result, score 0-1 Delta. In the second half, an uncontrolled touch allowed Delta to get a clean shot off and double their lead to 0-2. GC then subbed in several players that received their first Varsity minutes in an attempt to shake things up. Delta scored their third and final goal after a shot and a rebound off Takach for a tap in follow up. The energy that GC’s subs brought was definitely a second half highlight. GC’s lack of teeth in the offensive half of the field continues to be a problem. Tomorrow starts the preparation for Thursday night’s game against Mt Vernon.
