The CG Cougars edged out their county rivals, the Mt. Vernon Marauders, 24–21 in a thrilling matchup Friday night. Running back Cooper Hinton powered the offense with 200 yards rushing and two touchdowns, while Trenton Smith added 100 yards and two scores of his own. Smith also led the defense with eight tackles and two sacks, supported by Bradley Malet, McCoy Wilson, and Tristan Lanum, who each tallied five tackles.
